Digital Product Passports for Construction

DPPs are regulatory infrastructure. Not optional.

EU CPR 2024/3110 and ESPR 2024/1781 mandate machine-readable Digital Product Passports for CE-marked construction products. Terrave generates compliant DPPs from your existing EPD data — no re-entry, no separate study.

What the DPP mandate means for manufacturers

DPPs mandatory for CE-marked products by product family

ESPR 2024/1781 introduces mandatory DPPs for CE-marked construction products in waves by product family. The CPR 2024/3110 revision aligns EPD obligations with DPP data requirements from the same verified record.

EPD is the data foundation of every DPP

The environmental performance section of a construction product DPP must be backed by a verified EN 15804+A2 EPD. The EPD is not supplementary — it is the required evidence layer for environmental claims in the DPP.

One verified record — EPD, PCF, Customer Scope 3, DPP

Terrave's CanonicalRecord architecture generates all four outputs from the same verified data set. Update the record once — all outputs refresh. No manual synchronisation between documents.

Precast concrete hEN deadline Q4 2026

Precast concrete products are among the first construction product families with a confirmed harmonised standard deadline under the revised CPR. Q4 2026 is the target date for mandatory DPP-aligned declarations.

Data inputs

Connect the data you already have.

Terrave ingests structured and unstructured data from your existing systems — ERP, CAD/PDM, plant exports, supplier portals — and maps it to a single verified product record. Collect once. Use everywhere.

Built for DPP compliance

From your existing EPD to a published DPP.

01

Your EPD data is already 80% of a DPP.

The hard part is done. A verified EN 15804+A2 EPD provides all 13 required environmental impact indicators, the system boundary documentation, and the LCA practitioner evidence that ESPR requires for the environmental performance section of a DPP.

Terrave bridges your CanonicalRecord to the DPP data model: GS1 Digital Link identifiers, multi-tier access control, cryptographic signing of the published record, and the product identity fields required by CPR 2024/3110. No re-entry.

Three outputs from one verified record.

Every verified product in Terrave generates an EPD PDF (verifier-grade, EN 15804+A2), a PCF (ISO 14067:2018), and a Customer Scope 3 response in CDP Climate Change format. All from one canonical Product Record.

When the record is updated — new plant energy data, revised material suppliers, updated background datasets — all three outputs refresh in step. No manual synchronisation between separate documents or tools.

Verifier integration built in.

Manufacturers send assignments directly to independent verifiers inside Terrave. The verifier receives the complete evidence package — calculation outputs, PCR checklist, material match documentation, and background dataset audit trail — without any file transfers or email attachments.

Verifier comments, issue resolution, material match review, and final approval are all tracked on the product record. When the verifier approves, the verified status propagates to the EPD, PCF, and DPP outputs simultaneously.

Public DPP page included.

Every verified product gets a machine-readable public DPP page at dpp.terrave.com/[GTIN]. The page is GS1 Digital Link conformant, resolves from the printed QR code on packaging, and serves both human-readable and structured JSON-LD data for downstream tools.

ESPR requires DPP data to persist for the product's lifetime plus ten years. Terrave provides lifetime hosting with version history — the DPP URL never changes, even when the underlying record is updated.

The process

From product data to published DPP.

01

Upload and map product data

Upload your material composition, production data, and plant energy inputs. Terrave maps each input to EN 15804+A2 background datasets and validates coverage against the DPP required field set. Existing EPDs can be imported directly.

02

Calculate and verify

Terrave runs the EN 15804+A2 calculation and ISO 14067:2018 PCF across all required modules. You review material matches and approve results. Assign to your independent verifier inside Terrave — no email chains, no file transfers.

03

Publish DPP with auto GS1 link and QR code

On verifier approval, Terrave publishes the DPP to dpp.terrave.com/[GTIN], generates the GS1 Digital Link conformant QR code, and produces the EPD PDF, PCF document, and Customer Scope 3 response — all from the same approved record.

FAQ

DPP questions, answered.

What data does a construction product DPP need to contain?

Under ESPR Regulation 2024/1781, a construction product DPP must include product identity (GTIN, batch, model), environmental performance data (all EN 15804+A2 impact indicators), material composition, hazardous substance declarations, instructions for use, and end-of-life information. For CE-marked products, the linked EPD satisfies the environmental data requirement. Terrave maps your CanonicalRecord to all required DPP data fields — no separate data entry.

How long does it take to publish a DPP for a product that already has an EPD?

If you have an existing verified EPD with complete EN 15804+A2 data, Terrave can generate and publish a conformant DPP in under 15 minutes. The EPD data covers the majority of mandatory DPP fields. The remaining fields — GTIN, composition declarations, end-of-life instructions — are entered once and stored in your CanonicalRecord for all future outputs.

Can Terrave use our existing EPDs to generate a DPP?

Yes. Terrave imports your existing EPDs — whether generated in Terrave or another tool — and maps the environmental data to the DPP schema. The import validates completeness against required DPP fields and flags any gaps. For EPDs produced outside Terrave, you confirm the data mapping before publication. Existing EPDs from IBU, EPD International, INIES, and EC3-format sources are all supported.

How does the verifier workflow work inside Terrave?

Manufacturers assign products for verification directly inside Terrave. The verifier receives access to the product record, calculation evidence, PCR checklist, and material match documentation — no email attachments needed. Verifiers can add comments, flag issues, and approve or reject line items. Once approved, the verified record drives both the EPD output and the DPP publication. The entire correspondence trail is stored on the record.

What is the GTIN and GS1 Digital Link requirement?

ESPR requires each DPP to be accessible via a unique product identifier. GS1 Digital Link is the conformant mechanism: a URL structured around the product's GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) that resolves to the DPP. Terrave generates and manages the GS1 Digital Link for each product, hosts the public DPP page at dpp.terrave.com/[GTIN], and generates a scannable QR code that encodes the Digital Link. If you do not have a GTIN, Terrave guides you through GS1 registration.

What does DPP compliance cost and what is included?

Terrave offers two tiers. The per-DPP tier is $1,500 and includes EPD generation, PCF calculation, customer Scope 3 response, DPP publication, GS1 Digital Link, QR code, and lifetime hosting. The unlimited subscription at $995 per month covers your full product portfolio — all outputs, all products, all updates. Both tiers include verifier integration, background report, and public DPP page at dpp.terrave.com.
